Presidential Motorcade Question

So the President is coming to Omaha tomorrow, and like any Jalop, I want to see the motorcade that keeps one of the world’s most powerful and targeted people safe. I’m wondering if the route for the president’s motorcades are ever made available to the general public prior to his travel. I could see why they would be; it gives drivers a chance to plan accordingly. However, with the Secret Service it’s safety first, so I could also see why they would avoid letting the general public know about routes until the police cars start closing down the road. Does anybody know if there’s a place the route is published, or do I have to guess?

When I lived in DC they definitely didn’t let anyone know when they were coming through. But it might be different outside of the Beltway. It is pretty cool to watch how the Secret Service and Police shut down major city streets.

If there is only one major road running by the venue, is it safe to assume they will approach on that major road rather than through a retail back street?

They typically use the local police to block entrances/exits for the routes. If nothing else you could get a few minutes head start by listening to a scanner.

Probably, but I want to have my car parked close to the speech, which is going to be at Baxter arena. I basically want to know if I’m right in suspecting that he will come up Center street at some point.

I don’t know of them broadcasting ahead of time, but the route is usually pretty evident by the traffic it creates. They usually take whatever the major highway is between the airport and their destination.
